Tuner Galleria Competitor Spotlight: Brian Gee
When Nissan announced that America would finally get the R35 GT-R, enthusiasts from coast to coast rejoiced. Tuners and car builders all around the world were getting ready for Japan's newest piece of machinery, and it was no doubt in anyone's mind that it would be a game changer. Now that a couple of years has come and gone with the GT-R in production, the aftermarket has embraced it and car builders have come out with some of the nicest creations we've ever seen. Brian Gee's 2009 Nissan GT-R Premium is just one of those cars and Tuner Galleria is proud to have it be one of its competitors.
Starting it off, we'd like to dive straight into what Brian Gee's GT-R has done so you all can get an insight on what it takes to compete. Since this was Brian's childhood dream car (as with many of us), he didn't waste any time in building it the way he wanted it, right after he got it. "It took a little over four months to build the car to how you see it now. The Wald GT-R was built based on a child's dream of playing video games and seeing the infamous 'Skyline' in all the Japanese magazines," Brian told us. "Now I couldn't be happier with the Wald Black Bison Kit, 22-inch Modulare wheels and built motor."
But that's not all that's done to the car. As Brian mentioned, it sports a full Wald Black Bison body kit which includes a new front bumper, carbon fiber lip, new side skirts, carbon fiber rear diffuser, trunk spoiler, trunk lip and widebody fenders. All of it was painted and installed by none other than Platinum Motorsports in California. Afterwards, Swift Springs stepped in with the suspension to give the car a more aggressive stance. Since the car debuted at the Jonari Corporation Booth (importers of Wald) at SEMA 2009, it originally had a set of 22-inch Wald Portofinos in matte black. Brian opted to swap them out for a set of 22-inch Modulare C11s in Satin Black and wrapped with Falken FK-452 rubber thanks to a little bit of persuasion from Peter at wheelexperts.com.
Engine modifications include Argray's midpipe and exhaust, Cobb Accessport tune, custom intake and AMS downpipes. Additional fuel comes from Injector Dynamics' 1000cc injectors and dual Walbro fuel pumps. Extra spark comes into play with HKS spark plugs. To enhance the engine bay area, a Titek engine cover was added and the hood was accented with Titek's carbon fiber hood vents. Pushing around 600hp at the wheels, there's no denying this GT-R is set for battle.
Brian Gee wants to thank the following people in helping build the car: TWC, Jonari, Wheelexperts.com, Tim Bailey at Cobb Tuning, Platinum Motorsports, Eugene at SP Engineering, Jotech, Falken and Yokohama. Be sure to check out Brian Gee's Nissan GT-R in person at upcoming Tuner Galleria shows nationwide.
