The 5th generation Chevrolet Camaro has put Chevy's beast back on the map as one of the top sport compacts in the industry. With the Mustang clearly taking a lot of the spotlight the last couple of years, it's good to see the new generation Camaro shoving it aside with some more American Muscle. Mike Betts' 2010 Chevrolet Camaro is one of the hottest out there, debuting at SEMA 2009 and looking to make its way towards the top of the show scene for 2010 and beyond.

This is actually Mike's fourth Camaro, having owned a '94 Z28, '99 Z28 and '00 SS in the past. "As you can see I like the Camaro," Mike shared with us. "I think GM knows how to make a good engine, and I've always liked American muscle cars. This 2010 entered his family on June 19th, 2009 and it didn't even take 24 hours before the Camaro was over at Brembo for a GT kit to be mocked up. "From there I worked hard to get parts on the car for SEMA in November," Mike recalled. "Just after SEMA, the car went to Vortech to get one of their kits installed."

And despite owning four Camaros in the past, Mike's experience with building and modifying them isn't the only thing influencing him. "A lot of inspiration came from my friends in TWC. I've studied how they build their cars, and I've followed suit with a lot of their ideas, tweaking them with my own ideas." Even though the car is still a work a progress (what project isn't?) Mike took some time to share his favorite three mods with us: carbon fiber and perforated leather-wrapped flat bottom steering wheel, carbon fiber wrapped roof and Vortech supercharger.

And Mike has shared several great moments with the car despite having it barely over a year. Whether it was driving a couple hundred of miles showing it to all his friends when he first got it, to people asking him if it transforms or thinking it's merely a V6, Mike still has time to enjoy it and pushing it to the limits around Southern California.

And the reason behind Mike's devotion to the Camaro? Well, it's simple. "I've always been a GM fan when it comes to muscle cars. Their engines are tried and true, having changed little over the last 50 years. Don't fix what isn't broken right?!" We are inclined to agree, and it's easy to see from Mike's Camaro that there is nothing broken with his product.

Last but not least, Mike wants to thank all his sponsors that have helped made this project a reality. Falken Tires, Carbon by Design, Brembo, Vortech, CarNutz Customz and Auto Explosion. "Thanks to my team, TWCompetition, and all my friends, without them my car wouldn't be where it is today! Life is nothing without good people to help you through it, and maybe a badass car or two!" Mike said. We couldn't agree more and we can't wait to see what Mike has in store for the rest of 2010 and 2011.
